Happy Hump Day Wednesday: It’s Almost the Weekend again!
Wednesday morning I had to go back to work, boo. I loved the break! I was the laziest I have ever been yesterday and it was great. I was going to take down my Christmas decorations, but that didn’t happen. Maybe my next off day it will.
Breakfast:
For breakfast I made a microwaveable English muffin. I topped it with laughing cow cinnamon cream cheese spread and eggs (1 egg, 2 egg whites). Nothing to crazy or out of the box for me!
I also had 1/2 of a grapefruit- metabolism booster!
Snack:
For my mid morning snack around 10:15 I had my Beverly International cookies n cream protein shake and an apple.
Lunch was leftover Laura’s lean chili and a salad with tomato, cucumbers, avocado, feta cheese, and orange pepper.
Another snack later on was a handful of mixed nuts- mostly almonds, and some pita chips.

I went to crossfit after work: This was my 4th beginner class, and I still get nervous every time!
BEGINNER CLASS
Skills:
Clean and Jerk
Box Jumps
Push-Ups
WOD:
8 Minute AMRAP:
3 Clean and Jerks
6 Push-Ups
9 Box Jumps
Let me just say I pretty much suck at pushups :(
After my workout I wasn’t that hungry but I had shredded BBQ in the crock pot at home (made with Stubbs, no high fructose corn syrup, bbq sauce). I had a little bit with some orange pepper and cucumber slices with spinach and artichoke humus. It doesnt really look that pretty but that BBQ was very good!
Then another protein shake before bed. I swear this stuff is so good!
I was thinking about going to Beefcake and getting some supplements soon… I got their new magazine and all the women in it take supplements like its their life, for example: DENSITY to help lose fat and increase muscle mass, ULTRA 40 for preservation of lean muscle mass, and MUSCLE SYNERGY to help with post workout soreness and help build lean muscle mass.
A little blurry sorry.
My husband went the other day and stocked up and for the new year I was wondering if I should.
The only extra supplements I take right now are multivitamins, vitamin C, Fish Oil, sometimes CLA, and biotin for hair and nails.
I definitely do not want to look like this girl: Her shoulders look very manly
Any thoughts on taking extra supplements?
What kind of supplements do you take?

I need to try that cookies and cream protein shake, it sounds delicious!
I always get weary about taking supplements too. I just don’t know what’s actually helpful!
And as long as you stay away from the heavy weights I’m sure you’ll be safe on not looking like that lady! Hahah

I suck at push-ups too – I have made it up to 7 unassisted in a row now though
Have you asked your CrossFit trainers if they allow you to use a band for assistance? They can hook a training band to the bottom of a weight rack, you balance your chest on it and it helps you push your body weight back up. I love it because it trains your body to learn the actual “real” push-up movement rather than the “on your knees” movement.

The food looks good! I was also not very hungry yesterday evening after my workout, which was definitely unusual! Good idea eating a healthy meal anyways that way there’s no snacking!

Yea, I was just going to have a protein shake but I needed REAL food too!

I have mixed feelings about supplements. I’m not convinced that they actually help much, but at the same time I figure they can’t hurt, so I keep my bases covered. The only ones I take are Vitamin D, C, calcium/magnesium, digestive enzymes, and fish oil. I used to take a multi, but it always made me feel sick so I stopped.
