Easter Eats: Sugar Coma

Good Morning! Let’s Recap Easter shall we??

I am posting a little late about Easter but I knew I still had to tell you about it!  I started the day off pretty healthy with some Blueberry Banana Protein Pancakes!   This was a slightly different recipe than I normally use, but I wanted to try it!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • Water If Needed
  • Blueberries

Smash the banana in a bowl with a fork.  Add all ingredients together until a batter forms.  Slowly add in water a little bit at a time until desired consistency forms. Each pancake takes about 4-5 minutes on each side.  I topped mine with maple syrup.  Enjoy!

I made the boys cinnamon rolls and ate 1/2 of one.  Alec ate 4!  And then he had donuts at church!  Kids and their sugar these days!!  This was the start of my SUGAR COMA.

After church we headed to my moms for brunch.

On the menu: Bacon and Egg Quiche Muffins, Ham, Fruit and Cheese, Broccoli, Rolls, mac n cheese, and TONS of Candy and desserts!  I mean seriously did we need a bunny cake with ice cream, key lime pie, candy, baklava, and homemade pecan turtles!?

Well the turtles were the best!  Pecans, and caramel coated in dark chocolate.  My sister-in-law is a goddess! I had like a million of them, I am not going to lie.

I also had a few bites of my husbands bunny cake.  It was from Servatii’s so had to try it.   At least I passed on the rolls and mac n cheese!

We all sat around and let our food digest for a while.  Look at all that candy over there!

After lounging around at the parents we had to go home and let the dogs free, so I took Lily on a 30 minute walk/jog around the neighborhood (at least my foot is feeling better).  I needed to burn some calories from all the candy I ate!

After my short little workout we headed to the in laws.  On the menu:  Again: Ham which was delicious, broccoli and cauliflower salad, rolls, and a veggie tray.  Dessert was strawberry pretzel salad which I had 2 servings of!  HOLY MOLY was I full after that.  No sweets for me for like a month!

I totally forgot to take pictures :(  But this is what it looked like.

Alec got 3 Easter baskets so you can imagine all the candy that is at my house. I don’t even know what to do with it all.  What happened to getting a chocolate bunny and being done with it?  People go WAY overboard I tell ya!

This isn’t even all of it.  There is like 4 bunnies in the freezer!

Hopefully you all weren’t in a sugar coma like me!   What was the BEST thing you ate on Easter?

    My Easter was also a sugar induced coma kind of day. But I’m actually doing a sugar detox this week – go figure! The best thing I had to eat was some raspberry baked French toast at my friend’s brunch. SO good! I also had some peeps & chocolate. By some I mean like handfuls :)

    The best thing I ate on Easter was 2 chick shaped peeps. LOL I hadn’t had sugar in 90 days so they were delish! :) I did only buy my boys each a 2,5 ounce chocolate bunny each. I am down 21 lbs and didn’t want lots of sugar (my addiction) in the house. They still received tons. I had hubby hide it all from me as I have found out of site out of mind really works well for me.

    Holy.wow… sugar coma indeed! Easter is always good for that, though. We didn’t have anywhere near that many treats around since it was just me and my parents, but I definitely got a good sugar fix in between cheesecake, Mini Eggs, chocolate kisses, and cream eggs. Ahh well. Sugar makes me smile :mrgreen:
